German metal band Pyogenesis started its career in 1991. Based in Stuttgart, its sound ranges from death metal to punk rock. Two years after its creation, the band recorded the album Sweet X-Rated Nothings, which marked a shift in its sound; the vocals were clearer and the overall vibe a little less dark. Pyogenesis followed up the album's release with extensive touring across Germany. In the midst of it all, it continued to work on its second album Twinaleblood, which was lauded by all and sundry. Its follow-up, 1997's Unpop, moved the band in a more commercial direction and helped its foray into the alternative pop-rock scene. After switching labels, the band released its five-track EP I Feel Sexy in 2002, closely followed by the full-length record She Makes Me Wish I Had A Gun, which spawned the hit single "Don't You Say Maybe." The band seemed to quieten over the next couple of years and declared an official hiatus in 2005. It made a return in 2015 with the album A Century in the Curse of Time, released on AFM Records.
