Growing up a young man in mid 19th Century England, Edward Elgar was always regarded as being peevish. His irksome personality did not help him rise the ranks of social class or develop an assuredness in his skills and as a result the classical compositions he wrote were rather flawed. After he met his wife, though, things started to change. The new misses started to change Elgar's personality and his work. The two were always seen carousing the streets of London till the wee hours of the morning and with so much merrymaking going on, Elgar was able to transmit his personal joy into classical compositions. These writings were extremely well regarded by the listening public and to this day Elgar is considered one of the more influential English composers of the 20th century.
