A Triple-A affiliate of MLB team, Miami Marlins, Wichita Wind Surge boasts an illustrious history of its own. Plying its trade in the American Conference South Division in the MiLB's Pacific Coast League, the team has been one of the league's top contenders since its inception in 1993. Known as New Orleans Zephyrs from 1993 to 2016 and New Orleans Baby Cakes from 2017 to 2019, the team shifted base to Wichita, KS in 2020, with the Riverfront Stadium named as its new home. The team won two league and conference titles and three division titles between 1998 and 2007, marking its most successful spell in history.
