Jo Dee Messina is a country signer/songwriter from Holliston, Massachusetts, who debuted on the scene with her 1996 LP Heads Carolina, Tails California. Interested in country music at a young age and influenced by luminaries like Patsy Cline, Reba McEntire and The Judds, Messina would soon start singing and performing live, making her professional debut at 16 when she started playing local New England clubs. After gigging around for a few years, Messina was eventually noticed by record executives, who helped her polish her sound, refine her songwriting style and eventually release her debut album.
