Sophisticated Science is Turtle Back Zoos new program geared towards people ages 14 and up - high school students, college students, and adults. This program is perfect for those interested in science, conservation, zoo animals, and animal careers. Both mini-series and individual seminars will be offered over the course of this program, so be sure to keep an eye out as we continue to add more topics!
Back to the Future with Fossils is a three-part series focusing on evolution over time. Dive into the history of animal groups and why they look the way they do today. In each lecture, learn about geologic time through fossils, and go into detail about the transitional forms of birds, whales, tetrapods, and more!
The program includes a lesson in the Berson Education Center classrooms followed by an animal presentation and a visit to the zoo. Classes are offered Saturday afternoons from 1 pm to 3 pm. This is an in-person program. Face coverings are required. A visit into the zoo is included with the program, but zoo admission is not included.
