With lush instrumental arrangements and soaring vocals, the Brooklyn, NY-based musical collective Dirty Projectors creates a snappy brand of indie, experimental rock. The band's sound has steadily evolve since its formation in 2002, and band's ability to interject abstract noises into songs but still maintain pop leanings has earned it comparisons from a broad spectrum of artists from Mariah Carey to Squeeze. Though the band released its album The Glad Fact, in 2003, Dirty Projectors didn't receive significant notoriety until its breakthrough 2009 album, Bitte Orca.
