It would be surprising to know that José Luis Perales, the established composer and singer who has sold more than 50 copies of his albums was once reluctant about singing. Music has been a part of José Luis Perales's life ever since he can remember. One can say that his journey began when he was just six, as that was when he learned to play his first string instrument. He became a known artist in his locality for his performances, which became the reason Perales's talent was noticed by an established producer. In 1976, he worked on his first composition "Porque te vas," which was sung by Jeanette- a popular Spanish singer. The song went on to become an international chart-topper and one of Jeanette's most popular songs. Perales managed to surpass the success of "Porque te vas" with his later releases and he tends to create a new benchmark for himself with his every album. Throughout his long and illustrious career, he has collaborated with many of the established Spanish artists and is a recipient of the prestigious Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes award.
