Born into a musical family in 1949, Willie Nile moved to New York City as a young man and made a splash almost immediately. Nile, ever the passionate romantic, has made a career out of playing straightforward rock n' roll that was nevertheless literate and urbane. Initially lumped in alternatively with new wavers or heartland rockers like Bruce Springsteen, Nile has carved out his distinctive legacy over his long and varied discography.
