Featuring
Steve Harvey is an actor, comedian, media personality and author from West Virginia who is best known for his WB sitcom, The Steve Harvey Show. He began performing stand-up at the Hilarities Comedy Club in Cleveland in 1985, where he gained a reputation for his personable attitude and humor. By 1994 he landed a starring role on ABC's Me and the Boys, and though the series was canceled after one season, Harvey was offered The Steve Harvey Show in 1996. The sitcom was highly successful among African American audiences but never received acclaim outside of the black community, a fact that Harvey often complained about. During the show's run from 1996 to 2002, he continued to perform as a stand up comedian, touring with Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac as the Kings of Comedy. The four-piece act was documented by Spike Lee, who made a film about the comedians titled The Original Kings of Comedy, released on DVD in 2000. Throughout the 2000s, Harvey began hosting a weekday morning radio show titled The Steve Harvey Morning Show, wrote his first book titled Steve Harvey's Big Time, and starred in the movies Love Don't Cost a Thing and Racing Stripes. He replaced host John O'Hurley on the iconic game show Family Feud in 2010 and continues to tour as a stand up comedian.
