Let your nerd flag fly high at the annual summer comic book extravaganza that is DC's Awesome Con. Upwards of 50,000 pop culture fans descend upon the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to buy comic books, dress up as superheroes (aka cosplay), attend panels to discuss and learn more about the latest sci-fi shows and films, and get photos with their favorite artists, writers and celebrities. Costume contests, gaming tournaments and screenings round out the three-day event.
