Gaining fame through MySpace, Malaysian singer/songwriter Yunalis Zarai is quite the success story. Though she had been writing and performing her own music locally since the age of 14, Yuna went to University to study law. While there, she became a MySpace sensation and in 2011 a US promotions company flew out to Malaysia to convince her to sign with them, eventually persuading her and landing her a deal with Fader. Her first single was produced by Pharrrell and immediately gained attention on iTunes and YouTube. With a sound that borders mainstream and indie pop, Yuna is likely to appeal to a diverse fan base.
