Threads of isolation reside alongside the urge for belonging in "Border", told through personal stories, movement and visual art. Individuals describe barriers experienced through career, racial, gender or ethnic prejudice. People speak of real-life: a woman working in a male dominated career, an HIV positive young adult, a black woman negotiating cultural assumptions, a Latino delayed by police, disability and employment, biracial marriage, same-sex parenthood, and the lengthy process of legal immigration. Set is by Scenic and Projections Designer for Theater and Opera, Jonathan Dahm Robertson. “Must See” guest companies perform over the three week run: Jan 25 – Forty+ by Carly Johnson Glade Dance Collective; Feb 1 – Forty+ by Emily Crews DanceArtTheater; Feb 8 – Roxann Morgan Rowley Repertory Project Contradiction Dance Theatre.
