Instantly recognizable in their white face paint and clothing inspired by the Stanley Kubrick film adaptation of A Clockwork Orange, the six members of The Adicts would turn the band into one of the bigger punk rock acts of the 1980s. The group formed in Suffolk, England in 1975, inspired by the UK punk scene that was developing around it at the time. Not unlike fellow like-minded groups such as The Buzzcocks, The Adicts combined a bratty and edgy punk rock sound with a discernible knack for pop hooks that made it a success both in and out of underground punk circles. The band continues to tour to this day, and attempts to treat each and every show as a party by utilizing confetti, beach balls, bubbles and other visual accompaniment.
