You have advance access to Arena Stage's dynamic 70th Anniversary Season! It is the season of revolution and uprisings. A season of leaders, of battles in court, on the road, in the field: a season of people fighting for what matters to them. It includes the kick off the national tour of the Tony Award-winning "Jitney" and August Wilson’s other cycle play, "Seven Guitars". The world premiere of the compelling drama "The Right to Be Forgotten" and Ken Ludwig’s funny and moving story, "Dear Jack, Dear Louise". Moving into 2020, Ursula Rani Sarma’s heart-rending and moving adaptation of "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and Octavio Solis’ powerful new play "Mother Road", a contemporary play based on John Steinbeck’s "Grapes of Wrath", start us off. Finally, Lydia Diamond rounds out the season in her return to Arena with her energetic and dynamic "Toni Stone" about the first African American woman to play baseball professionally.
