Paul Lewis is a classical pianist from Liverpool, England who has built a reputation for himself for his adept performances of some of Beethoven better known sonatas and concertos. Though starting out playing the cello, after enrolling at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, Lewis's piano studies flourished. After graduating, Lewis would go on to play with a number of notable orchestras and conductors, eventually achieving international achievement in 1994 when he placed second at the 1994 World Piano Competition in London.
