Whether with a group of friends, in a happy coupling, or flying solo, enjoy a great time with DC Shorts + Sweet snacks and an open bar at the romantic Miracle Theatre in the trendy Eastern Market neighborhood. xxxx

Showcase A: Friday, February 15, 7:00pm - "This Is Love" (Sweet)

Kubrick By Candlelight - Director: David O’Reilly - 18 Min. - Comedy/Historical - Ireland: In 1973, Stanley Kubrick went to Ireland and brought the whole goddamn British Army. A light hearted romantic comedy set behind the scenes of the filming of Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. Narrated by Brian Cox.

Three Pages - Director: Roger Gariépy - 15 Min. - Drama - Canada: An unassuming middle-aged accountant learns he has only weeks to live. Rather than tell everyone, Martin determines to learn the three pages of a Bach adagio for piano he’d abandoned as a child. That accomplished, he performs the piece for his wife and friends, completing his life and thanking those who brightened it along the way.

The Hateful Date - Director: Adam Kiers - 8 Min. - Comedy - Australia: What if two people on first date were completely honest with each other?

The Favor - Director: Jason Yu - 16 Min. - Comedy/Drama - South Korea: In the middle of the night, a father wakes up his son and asks him an awkward favor.

Bonboné - Director: Rakan Mayasi - 15 Min. - Romance/Drama - Palestine: The film revolves around a couple in Palestine as the husband is serving time in an Israeli jail. Where physical interaction in the jail is prohibited, the anxious couple decide to smuggle semen out of prison and give birth to a child. The Outer Circle - Director: Adam Baroukh - 13 Min. - Drama – United Kingdom: Midway through a grueling Orthodox conversion, Daniel and his fiancée Katherine are eager to gain the blessing of his intimidatingly large and loud Iraqi Jewish family. At their annual Rosh Hashanah feast, Katherine’s natural elegance and ‘English English’ heritage immediately endears her to them, but it soon becomes apparent that beneath the warm and welcoming atmosphere, some are not ready as others to accept her.

The Theory of Sleep - Director: Rubén Barbosa - 20 Min. - Drama - Spain: Hypnotist David Leclerck has the best live show in the country. Tonight is the last big gig of the season. It is supposed to be the usual grand finale, but everything turns into a catharsis that David will execute accurately, sacrificing himself before his audience and dragging everyone down. Everyone.

Forever Eddie - Director: Conor Boru - 12 Min. – Dark Comedy – United Kingdom: A jaded housewife takes matters into her own hands when her slobbish husband mistreats her precious dog Eddie.

Wandering Eyes - Director: Makan Talayeh - 15 Min. - Thriller – USA: The lives of two seemingly disconnected couples, each with an unapologetic cheating spouse, come together in a twisted tale of betrayal and revenge as all four cross paths in an unexpected way.

Gypsy’s Kiss - Director: Paul Murphy - 9 Min. - Comedy – United Kingdom: Judith is alone. A widow with a distant son, she's takes life as she finds it.
