Climate science is already being called upon to provide the knowledge required for wise mitigation and adaptation decision-making in a changing world. This need will grow, and addressing the challenges and taking advantage of the opportunities that arise will require a worldwide effort, a prepared scientific work force, and strong global partnerships. The World Climate Research Program (WCRP), U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP), and National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) play important roles in the development and coordination of future climate change research. Together, we seek AGU community input into the development and implementation of strategic plans to guide and conduct international climate science in the next decade.Presented by:Guy Brasseur, Chair, WCRP Joint Scientific Committee & National Center for Atmospheric ResearchAmanda Lynch, Vice Chair, WCRP Joint Scientific Committee & Brown UniversityMichael Kuperberg, Executive Director, US Global Change Research ProgramAmanda Staudt, Director, NASEM Board on Atmospheric Sciences and ClimateNote this town hall is an event of the AGU 2018 Fall Meeting, which requires registration in order to attend.
