One of the UK's most commercially successful and longest performing acts, Surrey-based band The Stranglers began its career as one of the first British punk bands in the '70s. Over the next five decades, the band would release several concept albums, explore the new wave, art rock, a 1980s pop sound and produce continuously charting hit singles. While its sound progressed over the years and its fan base and lineup altered too, The Stranglers never ceased to lose popularity and today are still a force to be reckoned with.
