Ronnie Spector
[]
World-renowned as the lead singer of the Ronnettes, Ronnie Spector owns a legacy of hits that date back to the early 1960s. Born Veronica Yvette Bennett, she formed the Ronnettes in 1959 along with her sister Estelle Bennett and cousin Nedra Talley. With the pop music prowess of legendary producer and then husband Phil Spector, from whom she takes her name, Ronnie and her girl group dominated the pop charts and released timeless songs like "Be My Baby," "Baby, I Love You," and "The Best Part of Breakin' Up." Though the Ronnettes split up in 1967, leaving several unreleased songs in the vault, Spector is recognized as a pop icon and one of rock and roll's most distinctive voices, despite a tumultuous, career-stunting marriage and divorce to Phil Spector. Ronnie Spector passed away after a battle with cancer in 2022.
