Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford has been the town's key events venue for quite some time. It primarily remains famous for hosting the Day of Portugal race, a 5-kilometer (3.10-mile) marathon, part of a biggest street festival that celebrates the culture and arts of the European country. The open-air venue also has movie screenings, community campaigns and health expositions as a part of its multifarious program.
