Located in a historic tram station, De Hallen is a socio-cultural hub in Amsterdam. The building, with its large windows, high ceilings and industrial structure, has been turned into a public space for events, markets, eateries and much more. While the main passageway is now used for special markets, exhibitions and fashion shows, some of the halls have more permanent tenants like the library in Hall 1, the movie theater in Hall 2, the food court in Hall 3 and the craft center in hall 7. An entire day can be spent here exploring the various components of this community hub. Heritage tours of the building and the surrounding neighborhood are also available.
