Die Badische Landesbühne is Bruchsal's prime performing arts venue that offers an eclectic cultural program throughout the year. Established in the year 1949, the Landesbühne was set up with an aim to promote culture and arts in the Baden-Württemberg region. The thriving venue features an exciting schedule of well-curated musical events and stage plays that span genres like classics and contemporary. While the theater hosts nearly 400 shows in a year, a third of its presentations are dedicated to youth and children. Die Badische Landesbühne also plays venue to some acts of the Freichlichtaufführungen, an annual ten-day theater festival. In the past, it has welcomed the noted Austrian writer Lida Winiewicz, along with enthralling audiences with some wonderful recreations of celebrated works of acclaimed German satirist Erich Kästner.
