Set on San Marcos River, Luling is a friendly town in the state of Texas. Established in the year 1874, this city was named after Charles Luling, a banker from New York. The annual Luling Watermelon Thump festival is held here every year in the month of June. They host competitions to see who can spit watermelon seeds the farthest. The annual Luling Dry Tri sports triathlon is also held here every September. Some of the well-known personalities who belong to this town are Michael Dorn, Bo Burris, Tamron Hall and many others.
