The Aarhus Botanical Garden (Botanisk Have) was planted in 1875 and is sprawled over 5 hectares (12.35 acres), forming a green oasis in the city. It has a stream and three lakes, plenty of picnic areas with grills and theme parks that showcase plants from diverse regions. Whether you come here for a botanical excursion or a fun day out with family, you are sure to learn something new about the natural world. The garden has a Tropical House that exhibits tropical and subtropical plants, a rockery with rare stones and a prominent greenhouse center. The theme parks have perennial grasses, beech trees, roses and lotuses among other varieties. Walk through bogs and hilly regions or just settle down on the lawns and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.
