Originally built in 1827 and utilized as a storage facility, this half-timbered beauty has today been transformed into a cultural venue. Speicher am Kaufhauskanal, with its spacious interiors, tranquil garden and elegant foyer, offers a diverse program of cultural events including classical concerts, poetry readings, sophisticated pop concerts, theater, art exhibitions and dance performances. Apart from its own program of events, the Speicher am Kaufhauskanal is also available on hire for private functions. Adjacent to the main building is a smaller stucco structure that has been converted into a dressing room for performers. From May through October, the Speicher am Kaufhauskanal also offers a lunch cafe where diners can relax and enjoy light snacks, fresh salads, delicious baked goods and coffee.
