St Paul's Within the Walls - also known as the American Church in Rome - was built in the 19th Century and was the first non-Roman Catholic church to be constructed in Rome. The Gothic Revival structure is known for its mosaics and stained glass windows and is frequently used as a concert venue due to its great acoustics. Today the church serves a multi-cultural congregation and houses the Joel Nafuma Refugee Center.
