The historic town of Provincetown is best known as the site of the first pilgrim's landing in 1620. The Mayflower Compact, a historic declaration was signed here and over the centuries, the little town has grown and developed with a rich social and cultural heritage unique to the region. Fishing and trade has always been integral to the fabric of life in Provincetown and few places are a better example than the charming MacMillan Pier. A walk along the wharf offers a chance to explore the quaint shops, visit the Whydah Museum, fish for flounder, go whale watching, charter a cruise, go para sailing and much more. The evening offers beautiful views of the town at sunset and visitors can catch a glimpse of the illuminated Pilgrims Monument in the background. The pier offers plenty of activities, shops and restaurants and is a nice place to spend an evening in Provincetown.
