Dating back to antiquity, Side is found on Pamphylian coast's eastern side. This ancient city is renowned as a scenic resort town and is known to be the country's foremost classical cities. Noted historians Arrian and Strabo mention that the city was established by Greeks from Cyme. Side is known for its scenic and well-developed harbor which made it one of the most significant trade points of the region. Side was also occupied by Alexander the Great in 333 BCE without any opposition.
