Pak Tai Temple is one of the biggest temples on the Hong Kong island. Located in Wan Chai, its construction dates back to the Qing dynasty in the 1800s and it is renowned for its architectural splendor. Devoted to the Taoist God of the Sea, it houses a copper statue of the deity as well as gold-plated woodwork, folk and floral motifs, copper bells, jade stools and other historical artifacts. The roof exemplifies classical Chinese architecture and is adorned with ornately-carved protective dragons on either side.
