Playing an important role in the history of Manchester, the Manchester Victoria Station is touted to be the second largest primary railway stations of the city. Dating back to the 19th Century, the station boasted of a wonderful beginning. However it met with serious criticism due to performance issues, back in the early 21st Century. At present the station is undergoing serious renovation and maintenance and is set to open fully by 2015.
