The medieval fortress of Chateau de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle dates back to the 12th Century and takes its name from the picturesque commune it's located in. This southern French castle sits at the convergence of the rivers Dordogne and Céou and looks out to beautiful Dordogne Valley. The castle was a focal point of numerous conflicts throughout much of its history as evident from it's predominantly fortified design. Restored in modern times after an extended period of being abandoned, the castle beckons visitors to discover its rich history. Listed as a historic monument, the castle today also houses the Museum of Medieval Warfare, a fitting tribute to its history.
