Considered as the longest heritage railway network in the Peak District, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway takes its passengers through an enchanting journey on a 9 mile (14.5 kilometer) route between Wirksworth and Duffield using Diesel Multiple Units. Offering some of the most spectacular sights of the valley and opportunities to explore the shops and museums of the different stations, this railway network is a delight for all ages. The valley of Ecclesbourne is in itself a wonderful retreat with amenities like a variety of cozy pubs, bistros, cafes and traditional shops, with a regular and special farmers market and a charming heritage center. It is also in close proximity to other attractive destinations like Matlock and Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Carsington Reservoir, Ashbourne, Dovedale and the City of Derby.
