A major town in the region of Northamptonshire is the county town of Northampton. Quite a massive town in terms of its area, it also is a landmark town in the region. Archaeological evidence from the study of the town, states that the town dates back to as early as the Bronze Age, the Roman and the Anglo-Saxon eras. It has been considered historic for the fact that it had been the place where the Battle of Northampton was fought.
