Jaap Eden baan is situated in the neighborhood of Watergraafsmeer, to the east of Amsterdam. It is an ice rink with its name denominated after the popular ice skater Jaap Eden. The lane stretches for around 400 meters (1312.34 feet) and has a hall called the Jaap Edenhal. It is the home rink for many semi- professional and amateur skaters. There is an ice rink for beginners and children, and it also has a climbing wall. This artificial rink has a framework of around 269 tubes of ammonia that help in the formation of ice when water is sprayed on the overlying concrete.
