The Kehlsteinhaus or the Eagle's Nest as it is also known, is a historic chalet that was inaugurated by Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday and was originally designed as a place where he could entertain important dignitaries and diplomats. It was built close to the Obersalzberg, which was Hitler's mountain retreat. The Eagle’s Nest Road connecting these two locations is an engineering marvel due to its unique route through rocky terrains. The Eagle's Nest chalet lies atop a mountain that is 1.83 meters (6.02 feet) in height and affords a spectacular view. Today, it serves as a beer garden and a restaurant.
