St Peter's Church was constructed in the year 1817. The Freemasons commissioned the building of the church and the church design is credited to James Gunnery. In the year 1878, St Peter's Church building was altered and in 1915, it also received a vestry. St Peter's Church is built in Decorated architectural style. The church building is made of ashlar buff sandstone and the roofing is done with Welsh slate. At its east window, the stained glass dates back to 1906. The churchyard of St Peter's Church has war tombs of officers and soldiers from World War I and II. St Peter's Church is marked as a Grade II listed edifice.
