Woodside National Historic Site is the childhood home of William Lyon Mackenzie King, who served as the Canadian Prime Minister between the 1920s and 1940s. The site reflects King's upbringing and family life, featuring a charming Victorian-style home surrounded by a lovely garden. Built in 1853 and named a National Historic Site of Canada in 1952, the grounds span 11.5 acres (4.7 hectares) in a sylvan area of Kitchener. Visitors to Woodside National Historic Site are welcomed with video presentations on King, his family, and the property. Special events and historical programs are also often held here.
