A liberal arts museum of the 21st Century, the Bates College Museum of Art houses an astounding collection of diverse, contemporary art work. Although small in size, the museum is a pleasant way to spend half an hour. It has a collection of permanent art work as well as temporary exhibitions covering a wide range of artistic styles. The exhibits are constantly changing, so be sure to check out the website for upcoming exhibitions and events before heading over. The museum is open Tuesdays to Saturdays between 10:00a and 5:00p. Admission is free.
