Named after its lake and the tribal inhabitants of its shore, Erie is one of the largest cities in Pennsylvania. An iconic landmark and popular tourist attraction is the St. Peter Cathedral, one of the tallest structures in the streetscape. Erie has several nicknames like the "Gem City" for its glistening water body and "The Flagship City" for its home port.
