Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a district located to the north-west of Austria, it receives intense snowfall adding a dense layer of snow to the terrain making it a perfect location for skiing. It has a number of ski resorts that caters to all ski related services with proper support gear and trained ski professionals. Tourism is the backbone of this region as most of the population's occupation is directly or indirectly related to the trade. In the year 1991, this region witnessed the Ski Championship, besides this it has also been the venue for the British University and British Royal Air Force snow championships.
