The Theater im Marienbad is located in the heart of Freiburg and is the hub of the city's performing arts scene. The building that houses the theater was constructed in the year 1902 but was used as a public bath until the year 1985. The theater finally took over and features two magnificent halls, the Kesselhaus, or the Boiler House and the Szenenraum, or the Scene Space. Both venues frequently host local and regional actors, musicians, and troupes that put on entertaining performances and exciting events. The venue is very popular with the locals because of the intimate ambiance and top-notch facilities and definitely deserves a visit when in the city.
