Klosterkirche Reichenbach was the first abbey church of the Teutonic Order and dates back to the 13th Century, though recent archaeological finds have confirmed that it was built on a previous church ruin. This three-nave Romanesque basilica is now a Protestant church. It was only during a renovation that it was discovered that Wittig and Grünewald, two well known Kessel painters had designed its eastern wall. The majestic church is perched atop a hill, and its worth taking the effort to hike.
