Marschweg-Stadion was built in 1951 as a multi-purpose sports venue. It is mainly used by football club VfB Oldenburg for its various matches. The stadium could originally hold 32000 spectators but today the maximum capacity is 15200 visitors. More than 4000 seats are covered and offer a good viewing angle in all seasons. During its decades of history, this stadium has hosted athletic events, including major track and field contests, besides football tournaments.
