Busboys and Poets is more than your local neighborhood cafe. Its unique name finds inspiration in the life of Langston Hughes, whose poetic recognition was realized during his stint as a busboy. Iraqi-American, Anas "Andy" Shallal, launched the first branch of this restaurant chain in 2005 as a melting pot of thoughts of artists, writers, activists and those in pursuit of social change. This eclectic space is a platform for community empowerment. Trade the mundane for an inspiring conversation over coffee, an engaging poetry reading, or to marvel at the rotational art exhibition. The menu features timeless favorites like burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta and paninis, including vegan and vegetarian alternatives, that complement inventive cocktails and premium libations.
