Conveniently located in the San Francisco Performing Arts District, the Nourse Theater is a historic landmark in itself, apart from being an entertainment venue. Hosting lectures, stand up comedy, plays, concerts and more, it sits comfortably across the Davies hall musicians' entrance. With classical columns of the composite order and a bright red awning to greet you at the entrance, the tone is set for the classical decor found inside. Ornate chandeliers shed light on the bright red seats and a proscenium stage with bright red curtains. All these elements lend themselves nicely to a classical concert or a period drama. However, modern performances like comedy acts, talks and lectures also take the stage here.
