Schloss Steinhöfel is a stately, neoclassical 18th-century castle and along with its English landscaped park is among the finest royal residences in the region. In its heydays it had hosted royal emissaries and was the abode of aristocrats. It underwent a huge renovation and was transformed into a hotel in 2002. Its idyllic location makes it a lovely romantic getaway. Its elegant rooms are adorned with antiques and are distinctly decorated from each other. The park is used for several cultural events as well. Over the course of its history, the castle changed a lot of roles from a house, to a department store under the soviets and then a hydroelectric power plant, before finally being restored to its former glory in the 1990s. Now, this one of a kind hotel also offers chic spaces for conferences, meetings and conventions, along with a restaurant offering local fare.
