The Racecourse is a beautiful and vast park located in the heart of Northampton. The park was used as a racecourse in the 17th century and later as a grazing pasture for the commoners. The park was also surprisingly used for a number of public executions in the 18th century. Today the park boasts of vast open grassy areas and a number of sports pitches and courts that are perfect for local cricket, football, and rugby events, festivals, as well as recreational sports. The Racecourse is a breath of fresh air in the midst of the city and shouldn't be missed when in the city.
