This private liberal-arts college is located in Claremont and not in the city of Pomona, however it's one of the founding members of the renowned Claremont Colleges. The college is one of the most selective ones in the nation, where the institution only accepts about 10% of its applicants. It's academic record rivals that of Ivy League colleges and universities, in which each student has an endowment of more than one-million dollars. The college provides 47 different majors and students are encouraged to develop their own academic track and almost all students study abroad in their junior year. The athletic department has sports teams that play in NCAA Division II and they are known as the Sagehens.
