Founded in 1937, the Franklin Theatre screens blockbusters and art cinemas since long. Though a popular movie theater in town, owing to financial constraints the venue had to close its doors in 2007. However, the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County took the initiative to revive this landmark and soon the Franklin Theatre resumed full-fledged operations. Now, it is more than just your regular cinema house and hosts concerts, shows and similar events on a regular basis. The theater is the foremost LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified project and continues to implement conservation policies like water efficiency and energy saving.
