A paradise of beaches, Byron Bay is a small town located in New South Wales. Named after Captain James Cook's colleague John Byron, the history of this town goes back to the 18th Century. The town was a flourishing center for dairy, fishing, and whaling. Today, Byron Bay has transformed its industrial disposition to a laidback getaway town. Boasting of spectacular coastal beauty, this quaint beachside town harbors some of the most picturesque beaches frequented by locals and tourists alike. Thrillseekers and outdoor lovers throng the glimmering sea waters which host a variety of watersports. With a tropical air lingering over the cityscape, the Byron Bay is an ideal resort town dappled with attractions. From heritage sites like Cape Byron Post Office and Cape Byron Lighthouse, the town shelters scenic nature reserves like Julian Rocks and Brunswick Heads. A breathtaking setting painted in white sand beaches and aquamarine waters, the town comes alive with yoga retreats, Byron Underwater Festival, Byron Writers Festival etc. The farmers' and artisan markets celebrate local arts and culinary culture of this spectacular town.
